Louisville Lunch

My mom & I decided a few months ago that we were going to start checking out new places to eat. We realized that we always just go to the same places, like O’Charleys, Texas Roadhouse, etc. Now don’t get me wrong, we’re not ones for weird food but we did want to find some new places to go. These last few months of trying new restaurants have definitely been a success. We have tried out several places on Fourth Street Live and in the downtown Louisville area that have turned out to be great!

If you’re not familiar with Fourth Street Live, it is located in downtown Louisville, Ky. It is a strip of Fourth Street that consists of restaurants, bars and live entertainment venues. Some restaurants and bars that are located there are TGI Fridays, Hard Rock Café, PBR, Howl at the Moon, and Gordon-Biersch.          Without a doubt my favorite place that we have tried at Fourth Street Live is The Fudgery. As I’ve mentioned before, I am a huge lover of desserts, so The Fudgery & I were meant to be. It’s obvious from their name that they have fudge, but it’s not just your typical chocolate or peanut butter fudge. They have Cookies n Crème, Rocky Road, and tons of other great flavors. They even provide you with the opportunity to watch them make fudge. It’s so neat watching the process, as they have huge marble slabs where they spread and fold the fudge. The Fudgery also has quite the variety of ice creams; it’s hard to choose just one. My personal favorite is chocolate chip cookie dough. If you’re craving some dessert, I highly recommend The Fudgery. To see if there is a Fudgery located near you, check out their website: http://www.fudgeryfudge.com/

My favorite new restaurant we have discovered is Smash Burger. Smash Burger is located just past Fourth Street Live, but still located on Fourth Street. I don’t think I’ve ever had a better hamburger in my life. I think I should let you all know that I am a fairly picky eater too, so when I find places I like they become instant classics with me. Their burgers aren’t too thick or too thin, too moist or too dry, they’re just right. Dare I say that these burgers are damn near perfect? Depending on what type of toppings you like, it really makes the difference for your burger I’m sure. But I’m just a simple ketchup and pickle, maybe some cheese, only girl myself and even with only that on the burger it is phenomenal. I can’t even get started on their French fries. They’re thin cut, hot and crispy and the perfect partner to the burger. Now that you’re good and hungry head out to the Smash Burger nearest you, to see where that is visit their website http://smashburger.com/
